A expectativa do mercado financeiro é que a venda do controle da empresa responsável pela energia elétrica brasileira arrecada entre R$ 12 bilhões e R$ 16 bilhões. Porém, só nos últimos dois anos a estatal lucrou R$ 24 bilhões; apenas no segundo trimestre de 2020 o lucro atingiu R$ 4,6 bilhões. A empresa tem a receber R$ 44,5 bilhões até 2028 e tem R$ 15 bilhões em caixa.
