No comecinho de 2020, lembro muito bem, era tarde clara e ensolarada, o morcego ainda mostrava a sua face.
Tiramos o dia para assistir a uma apresentação infantil, minha esposa segurava a pequena afilhada, ainda de colo, eu estava incumbido de cuidar das mochilas e bolsas.
Chegamos ao Mercado Municipal, tudo corria como deveria correr, contação de histórias, bruxinhas, vampiros e canções. Não, vampiros não!
Logo mais, caminhadas por corredores, gôndolas abarrotadas de cores, odores, texturas e sabores.
Chegada a hora da papinha, encontramos uma mesa e por lá ficamos. Quase ao nosso lado, avistei um senhor misterioso, usava boné e nas vistas, óculos de grau. Entre papéis esparramados escrevia sem parar.
Passei então a observá-lo, havia algo naquele misterioso homem. Perscrutei cada gesto, segui os seus movimentos mesmo quando banais. De tanto observá-lo, acabei descoberto, de observador tornei-me o observado. Fingi não perceber, ele voltou a escrever, eu voltei com o meu olhar.
Com a Lupa vilipendiava um livreto religioso. Vampiros não bebem água benta!
Quando dei por mim, novamente o embaraço, ele me olhava com a lupa.
Atônito e investigativo sussurrei - Acho que este senhor é o Dalton Trevisan!
– Tem certeza?
Peguei o celular e comecei a procurar por imagens do escritor na internet. Mostrei as fotos para minha esposa – Pode até ser, fale com ele!
– Não posso! Não consigo.
Olhamos mais uma vez para o senhor, perdido em seus papéis e anotações.
Percebendo o nosso movimento, tentava disfarçar, estava sendo acossado, eram claras as nossas intenções.
Com a afilhada em seu colo, levantou-se – Vamos embora!
– Como Assim?
– Se não vai falar com ele, vamos sair daqui!
Uma coragem absurdamente insana baixou em mim e tomei a iniciativa. – Boa tarde, desculpe incomodar, estava lhe observando, o senhor é o Dalton Trevisan?
Como pude ser tão estúpido!! Foi o que consegui fazer, ou melhor, falar.
Então uma surpresa, o nosso Dalton levantou-se da mesa, esboçou um gentil sorriso – Que honra, quem me dera, sou apenas um engenheiro agrônomo preparando a palestra para a semana que vem. Que linda a sua menina.
Sorrimos. Não quis dizer que era a nossa afilhada, pensei que poderia ser indelicado, era de bom tom, manter este enredo para o vampiro.
Apertamos as mãos e nos despedimos. Ainda fui capaz de falar isso, vejam só que catástrofe - Caso o senhor seja o Dalton, os seus livros são maravilhosos.
Saímos em busca do carro. Enquanto ajustávamos a pequena na cadeirinha e guardávamos as mochilas, bolsa e sacolas, avistamos o falso Dalton deixando o mercado.
Ao chegar em casa, sob o feitiço do vampiro, liguei para o amigo JC, contei sobre a nossa experiência com o falso Dalton. Após ouvir, lançou-me ao tempo – Mesmo que fosse o Dalton, jamais iria revelar a real identidade.
Certa vez, um velho amigo chamado OT, que partiu em 2021, havia prometido para mim um bate papo informal com o Dalton Trevisan. Sendo meu amigo um passado e o vampiro o presente, isso não irá acontecer.
Uma semana após o nosso encontro, o falso Dalton apareceu mais uma vez na minha frente – O vampiro marca a sua vítima.
Escondi o meu rosto para que não me avistasse, observei novamente os seus movimentos. Quando sentou para ler, ajustei o celular e como um detetive de filme Noir registrei a sua imagem. Três fotos em diferentes planos.
Rapidamente, enviei as imagens para a minha esposa e para o JC. Em menos de um minuto, uma mensagem chega em meu celular – Não parece ser ele, sentencia José C.
– Nossa, que coincidência, escreveu ela.
Percebo que o falso Dalton se aproxima, carrega um jornal em suas mãos – Sabe onde consigo tirar um xerox?
Fixei o meu olhar no vampiro – Lembra de mim? Sou o rapaz que perguntou se o senhor era o Dalton Trevisan.
– Claro!
Disse ele com um largo sorriso.
Após breve conversa, entregou-me o seu cartão.
Leio o nome. Ele parte. Leio novamente. O nome. Falso Dalton…
O vampiro sobrevoa a biblioteca.
Sussurro baixinho para o morcego acima da minha cabeça – O dia em que eu não te encontrei, vampiro!
